Welcome to the Delaware Mineralogical Society
About our Club
DMS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and education of mineralogy,
paleontology and the lapidary arts. We have monthly meetings at the Delaware Museum of Nature and
Science, just north of Wilmington, Delaware. Our monthly meetings have speakers and programs that
promote the goals of the society.
We conduct several field trips a year to fossil and mineral localities in the tri-state area and further
afield. DMS has close ties to other clubs in the Mid-Atlantic region that provides opportunities for
some co-sponsored field trips a year.
Please visit our Field Trip page to see pictures and field trip reports.
DMS is a member of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS) and the Eastern
Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies (EFMLS). We also participate in the “Future
Rockhounds of America” Program through the AFMS.
